Pretium is a quality commercial personal finances software package
available for the Amiga. It is designed to be as simple to use
as writing in a checkbook, but advanced enough to take advantage
of the power of the Amiga.
This is a demo of Pretium, with most of the features of the complete
commercial version. The demo doesn't allow check printing, report
printing, or inputing/exporting of Quicken files.
To record a transaction, such as a deposit or withdrawal from
your checking account, simply enter the information the same way
you would record the transaction in your checkbook. Pretium
keeps track of the balance for you. If you want a clearer
picture of where your money is going, you can have it print a
report at the click of a button.
Pretium supports categories and subcategories for transactions,
allowing you to classify and organize your finances.
Transactions are sorted by date and check number as quickly as
they are entered. It also supports easy importing and exporting
of files with Quicken and Microsoft Money.
It also handles more than just checking accounts. You can use
Pretium for keeping track of credit card charges and payments,
savings accounts, petty cash funds, cash transactions, and more.
In fact, you can work with any number of separate accounts
on-screen at one time.
The entire application was meticulously designed to be fast and
easy to use. Calculations and screen displays occur almost
instantly even on low end Amigas. Transactions may be entered
one right after another. Pretium can also fill-in information
from a previous transaction, matched by entering just the first
few letters.
Pretium also supports numorous dollar format notations, allowing
it be used for the particular currency format of any country in
the world. Pretium's preference settings also allow the user to
change the screen size, font, and other aspects of the program.
Pretium was originally developed under Intelligent Designs, Inc.
(devloper of Ami-Back and Ami-Back Tools), but that company went
out of business before it could be completed. Pretium's original
developer, David Orr, took up the task of completing the Pretium
project. It is now available through Innovative Digital
Dyanamics. David Orr will continue to actively provide new
upgrades and enhancements to Pretium.
